Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy often used in the treatment and education of children with autism spectrum disorders.  Currently, it is the most promising, evidence-based treatment available to children with autism and their families. Our consultants will come into your home and work with you to build a program as unique as your child. Our consultants will then train your behavioral technicians and family members to help ensure that your child always gets the best quality instruction and services. We continue working closely with your family, meeting approximately every two weeks, to check your child's progress, address any questions or concerns you might have, and to set new goals. We are now also offering ABA sessions at our new clinic location.

ABA has helped to improve the lives of individuals with autism by helping improve:
*Fine and Gross Motor Skills
* Personal Self-Care
* Communication
* Social Skills
* Academics
* Many Others

Included in our start-up services are:
*Free initial consultation
*Free initial group training of your behavioral technicians
                                                    *Parent training on all services

How do you initiate services?

Step 1. Record Review

Parents are asked to send records related to their child’s needs before meeting with a consultant. Relevant records may include Individualized Education Plans (IEP's), ETR results, or evaluations conducted by other practitioners such as pediatricians, neurologists, speech, OT, or PT, or other specialists.

Step 2. Intake

The intake interview  is a free service intended to let us get to know you and your child and for you to get to know us.  During the intake interview the Consultant will follow up on the information in the record review, discuss services and answer any questions you might have.

Step 3. Funding Review

As part of the initial intake, funding will be discussed. Some families will choose to pay privately for services, others will apply for various other funding sources. Currently, Unified Solutions is an in-network provider for SummaCare, Cigna Behavioral Health, and Anthem BCBS health insurance. We have also been able  to work with other insurance companies to get services covered. We also accept the Autism Scholarship. We have a list of outside funding grants you may be eligible for if you cannot private pay and none of these options work for you.

Step 4. Initial Assessment

Once you have chosen us as your ABA provider, your Consultant will visit  you and your child in the comfort of your home for 2 hours on one to two occasions before therapy is started. During these visits, your consultant will be building a relationship and assessing your child so that the most appropriate and individualized programming can be designed to meet your family's needs.

Step 5. Team Building

Your family will be asked to hire a team of 2-4 technicians (depending on number of hours of therapy). You can look for technicians by posting at local Universities and caregiver websites. We will help you with this process as much as you need us to by helping with the interview process or making suggestions on what would make up good qualities of a great behavioral technician. Unified Solutions will provide technicians, if available.

Step 6. Start-Up Training

Once your family has hired a team, your Consultant will conduct a start up training in the comfort of your home consisting of a 4-5 hour day of instruction and role playing. The start-up training is conducted to teach your family and team of technicians the basics of ABA and how ABA will be used to help your child meet his or her individual goals. After the initial training, more specific training for each program will be delivered to each technician and to you as each program develops. No one id ever left on their own to just "figure it out!"

Step 7. On-Going Services

Consultation services vary based on the unique needs of your family.  We usually find that meeting bi-weekly, for up to 2 hours with the entire team, supports the stability and consistency that a therapy program needs to flourish.  During the meeting, the team will review data, make program changes,  observe technicians work with your child, and discuss and concerns you may have.
