Questions about our services
What types of funding do you accept?
Currently, Unified Solutions is an in-network provider for SummaCare, Anthem, Medical Mutual health and Cigna Behavioral Health. We have also been successful at arranging single-case agreements with other insurance companies. It should be noted, however, that your policy must cover ABA therapy first. We also use funding from the Autism Scholarship to provide services to families with children with autism who elect not to send their children to public schools. Unified Solutions also accepts private pay. There are also other organizations that supply grants to families to help pay for therapy and other related expenses that our services qualify for.
What is ABA therapy and how can it help my family?
ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. Behavior analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behavior is followed by some sort of reward, the behavior is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of these techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior.By learning specific techniques to teach new skills and reduce problem behaviors, families feel more confident in their ability to handle difficult situations and to start experiencing new places and things. Do you only provide services for kids with autism?
No. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is not just for people with autism . It can be used to help almost anyone! At Unified Solutions besides developing in-home and clinic-setting ABA programming, we use ABA to help children experiencing behavioral challenges, learning difficulties, achieving social skills and daily living skills. A child may have a diagnosis or may be typically developing who just needs some extra support in an area.
Do you only provide services to children?
NO. Unified Solutions provides three types of adult services.
1.The first is to adults who have developmental disabilities. These services would be designed to help these individuals reach their potential in the areas of daily living skills, vocational skills, and social skills.
2. The second type of service we offer to adults is our Parent Coaching Workshops. This is a series of workshops that provide parents tools to help build stronger relationships with their children while decreasing unwanted behaviors their children may be exhibiting such as disrespect, noncompliance, tantrums, lying, etc.
3. The third service we offer adults is to bring the parenting workshops into your home. This is for families that have been experiencing a lot of difficulties with their children and need more intensive support to help rebuild those relationships and navigate those challenging behaviors. Our coaches come to your home, or wherever you are experiencing the problems (school, grandma's, grocery store) and help support you in learning the tools to handle difficult behavior so that it decreases and help your children replace it with more appropriate behaviors.
You can find out more about the workshops on the Services page.
